Who
BuildCalc is built and maintained by Stepan Davidov, a solo developer. The site was created for homeowners tackling weekend projects and contractors who need a quick estimate on the job site — no account required, no fluff, just the numbers you need.
What
BuildCalc covers the materials you actually deal with: concrete, cinder blocks, gravel, pea gravel, crusher run, deck boards, fence posts, drywall, topsoil, mulch, tile, wallpaper, roofing, and general area calculations — 38+ calculators across all major categories. Each calculator shows the formula used so you can verify the math yourself.
Why
Most construction calculator sites are cluttered with ads, demand an email before showing results, or bury the calculator under five paragraphs of filler content. BuildCalc exists because those sites are frustrating to use. Everything here runs directly in your browser — nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and there is never a paywall on the core calculators. Fast, private, and free.
